Bio
Conor Backman
(b.1988) currently lives in Richmond, Virginia. He is studying
sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Backman
works in a variety of media including sculpture, video, and music,
however his main focus is still painting. He has been painting
for
about five years now. In April of 2007 Conor won "Best in
Show" at the tenth district Congressional Art Show for the second year
in a row. His painting "Two Chevies" will be shown in the capitol
for one year along with the other winners of shows from every
congressional district in the country. In May of 2008 he became the first recipient of the Tyler Binsted scholarship for sculpture.
